Urban League & Google Work to Support Business Growth and Safe Environments
 for Black-owned Storefronts
Apply Today for a Free Google Storefront Kit ´╗┐and Other Google Services

The Houston Area Urban League Entrepreneurship Center is working with Google* on a pilot program to provide Black-owned, small and medium-sized businesses with free Google Storefront Kits (GSK) and other Google services. This initiative will support safer business environments for customers and employees of eligible businesses in response to COVID-19 safety measures.

This program is open to Black-owned businesses operating storefronts, food trucks, commercial office spaces, or customer-accessible home offices across the state of Texas.

Google Storefront Kits will enable businesses to establish remote monitoring and safer, distanced customer interactions in this COVID-19 climate.

What's included in the Free Google Storefront kit?



Google Storefront Kits include:

· 3 Nest Cameras

· 1 Nest Hub Max

· 1 Nest Mini

· 1 Nest Thermostat

· 1 Google Pixel 4a 5G Phone

The GSK also includes a free 12-month subscription of the Nest Aware service.

In addition, Google will provide free installation of the hardware at your business, as well as access to learning and development services through Grow with Google.

Who is Eligible?

Eligible businesses must meet the following requirements:

· A small business at least 51% owned by a Black/African American individual

· A small business operating in the state of Texas

· Operating as a storefront, food truck, commercial office space, or customer-accessible home office

· Must have been operating the business for at least one year

· 2019 Adjusted Gross Income of the business owner is less than $250,000

· Broadband internet connection at the establishment with at least 2 Mbps upload speed (Check your broadband speed here.)

· Must agree to completing all pre- and post-installation surveys

Please note:
· Eligible businesses are only allowed to receive one kit. (i.e. Businesses with multiple locations can only receive one kit.)
· Eligible business owners are only allowed to receive one kit. (i.e. Applicants that own more than one business may only receive one kit.)
· Only one kit is allowed per establishment. (i.e. Applicant that owns more than one business at the same address may only receive one kit.)

To apply for the Free Google Storefront Kit, eligible, Black-owned businesses should email Eric Goodie at ericg@haul.org.
