SUMMARY:              

Under limited direction, establishes and maintains relationships with employers and community organizations to develop job opportunities and support continued employment for clients. Coordinates day-to-day activities such as soliciting employer interest and involvement in the employment of Workforce Development and Training participants.

 PROGRAM:   Workforce Development and Training

 SALARY RANGE: Negotiable

 Experience:

Must have Business or Job Development experience in a corporate or social service related position requiring public contact and community interaction. Sales and marketing background is a plus.  Must be technically proficient.

 Responsibilities:

 Initiates and maintains personal contacts with business and industry representatives to set up in-person and/or virtual hiring events.

  • Schedules and visits potential and existing employers to identify and develop employment opportunity for participants.
  • Establish a database of corporate and non-profit job opportunities.
  • Provide direct job placements and referrals for clients.
  • Assist clients in identifying positions in their field of interest; assists in development of resumes, cover letters and applications; advises clients on employability skills; helps explore alternative employment options.
  • Facilitate Employment Orientation and Job Readiness Trainings.
  • Assist with client’s assessment, ICEP and Career Pathways.
  • Collect and track job placement data; compiles data and prepares reports and correspondence regarding job development and placement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

 Must have 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with multiple barriers to employment.

  • Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of aggressive and accomplished job prospecting and honed job counseling skills.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least 3 years of proven success in job placement and/or workforce development.
  • Fundamental understanding of Career Pathing.
  • BA degree preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
