We are currently looking for a Fitter to join our Service Team in Houston, USA.
The main purpose of the role is to fit components per AWS D1.1 Code.
About this role
• Properly fit component parts to AWS D1.1 Code and engineered drawing.
• Plan layouts/templates.
• Assure proper material is issued to job.
• Responsible for providing own hand tools.
• Must be able to perform independent fitting duties offshore as well as in shop.
• Assist in training of Fitter B’s in the areas of product knowledge, techniques and interpreting drawings.
• Keep work area clean.
• Know and understand Sparrows Offshore’ Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
• Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Perform all other duties as required by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
HSEQ Responsibilities
• It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows the Company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems.
• The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to the Management System processes/procedures.
• The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health, safety and/or environmental legislation to follow these.
• The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications & Experience
• Ability to interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of basic math, including decimals and fractions.
• Must be proficient in the use of various hand tools.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Must be capable of working with minimal supervision.
