Position Title: Human Resource Relations Specialist
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Hours: Full-time, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Summary:
In collaboration with the chief financial officer (CFO), the human resource relations specialist will manage employee relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for contract and policy development, investigations, onboarding, and exiting employees.

Facilitate employee conflict resolution

Address inquiries related to policies, procedures, and agreements, with support from the CFO and head of school for complex matters

Serve as the contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints

Conduct interviews and gather information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; collaborate with CFO and head of school when additional investigation is required

Facilitate hiring and termination processes

Facilitate employee benefits enrollment, issues, and termination

Maintain employee records, including but not limited to hiring, termination, leave, benefits, and employee issues

Conduct surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other factors as requested by CFO or head of school

Maintain knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations

Assist with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports, including but not limited to employee improvement plans, organizational charts, and the Employee Handbook

Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
-
Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and employment law
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
-
Ability to maintain the highest degree and standards of confidentiality

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
-
Exceptional work ethic and judgment

Must be a self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and accurate with good follow-through skills

Ability to prioritize daily tasks, anticipate needs, initiate appropriate action, and exercise good judgment

The ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment with frequent interruptions

Consistent customer service and flexibility in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, Accounting, or related field required
-
At least three years of professional human resource administration required with experience in employee relations preferred
-
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
-
Hands-on experience working with and managing online databases and HRIS systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now and Dynafile
-
Experience working with diverse populations
-
Bi-lingual language skills
