Using "Watch Me Read", a student reads aloud from a book featured within the software. At any time during the reading, the student can listen to what he or she has read, receive feedback from a computerized "panda" icon, who recognizes mistakes and assists students with correctly pronouncing words, and/or create a multimedia presentation that can be shared with peers and tutors. Currently, there are six workstations available for use (as scheduled) at the Houston Area Urban League. Additionally, we are linked to ten schools in the H.I.S.D. south central and northeast districts where we have sponsored (through IBM) similar equipment to be used in classrooms and in conjunction with their parent involvement activities.
