JOB TITLE: APPLICATIONS PROGRAMMING SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees the development of application programming interface (API) development projects and internal application development projects. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Responsible for supervising the daily activities of the members of the applications support staff and the development staff.
*Accountable for meeting project, team, and department deadlines.
*Responsible for all aspects of the SDLC for all applications under his/her area of responsibilities.
*Provides periodic reports on project status and potential problem areas as well as forecasts of resource utilization.
*Trains, counsels, supervises and appraises application support staff to assure an effective operation and to provide professional growth and     job satisfaction.
*Evaluates user requirements, analyzes and determines specific solutions, recommends solutions to users, and assures the development and    implementation of these solutions in a timely, cost-effective manner.
*Responds to requests for special projects as directed by Director of Information Technology.
*Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the Information Technology Department budget.
*Responsible for all internally developed applications and some vendor applications activities.
*On-call 24/7 for IT support issues.
*Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county       managers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred. (High School/GED and four years of relevant professional experience in addition to 7 years required experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree). Seven years of job related experience, including five years of supervisory/management experience. Experience in computer programming and systems design. Strong
multi-platform computer programming skills. Working experience with the following languages, VB.NET, C#.NET, .NET Core, PowerBuilder, HTML, XML, JavaScript, PHP, SQL Server, PL/SQL. Strong verbal and written communication, supervisory and organization skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, employees in other departments, and elected officials.

SALARY RANGE: Professional/Management, Commensurate with experience
CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
