Description
WeldFit is looking for a motivated professional for the Project Manager role. This position is responsible for managing key projects within the organization. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of assigned projects from initiation to close-out to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and within scope. The candidate will collaborate with customers, third party vendors/contractors, and internal teams to deliver results.
Other Duties / Expectations:
Pre-Job Award
- Determine what inventory or stock items are available, as needed, when requested by Applications
- Assist with lead time requests from Applications
- Facilitate scheduling bid-phase drawings with Engineering required for proposal
- Facilitate documentation (ITP, document schedule, production schedule, etc.) required for proposal
Order Receipt
- Perform order review
- Facilitate clarifications with customer and Applications
- Determine/validate engineering lead time
- Validate quoted lead time with manufacturing and using available reporting systems
- Validate budgeted hours and material costs in Salesforce and Syteline
- Add order to engineering schedule
- Release order to Engineering
- Add order to invoice list if order includes milestones
- Create and monitor order schedule
- Adds items to and monitor purchasing spreadsheet
Engineering Phase
- Facilitate/address clarifications from Engineering with customer/Applications
- Prioritize orders/due dates with Engineering Manager as it relates to available engineering resources
- Facilitate communication between customer and Engineering during customer review of general arrangement (GA) drawings
- Develop change order based on customer comments on drawings, if needed
- If long lead items need to be ordered ahead of production drawing release, obtain information from Engineering needed for Purchasing to begin ordering
Production Control
- Prioritize the Job Queue, as needed (i.e. review and advise Production Control to release a job that needs to go to the floor ahead of schedule)
Procurement Phase
- Advise Procurement of need by date for major materials
- Facilitate weekly purchasing meeting
- Facilitate deviation requests between purchasing and engineering
- Assists with/facilitates vendor issues including credit/payment, deviations, and late deliveries and their associated impacts to schedule
- Determine make/buy decisions for various products (i.e. closures, PLCs, etc.)
- Determine pull from inventory/build new decisions
- Facilitate path forward with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, etc. to resolve material issues
Manufacturing Phase
- Facilitate regular production meetings
- Facilitate deviations, when needed, from the shop floor, by obtaining deviation request from Quality and sending to and interfacing with customer to obtain acceptance
- Communicate with customer/sales regarding late deliveries
- Assist with/facilitate path forward with Quality on failed heat treatment
Quality
- Answer questions about customer requirements
- Assist with/facilitate path forward when product is rejected by Quality
Change Orders
- Estimate change orders and/or develop RFQ for applications team to estimate
Post-Shipment
- Facilitate resolution to customer complaints after shipment has arrived
- Assist in developing response to customer NCRs
- Facilitate modifications to shipped items if/when defects discovered in field that can be corrected
Accounting
- POC revenue report development/maintenance
- Project when to bill against milestones and notify Accounting
- Answer questions about project margins
- Balance project schedules with monthly revenue targets
Customer/Partner Relations
- Coordinate with internal resources, third party vendors, and customers for the successful execution of projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders including the internal project team, project sponsors and clients.
Qualifications
Experience Levels: 3-years of prior experience in similar job
Education/Experience Requirements:
- College Degree or equivalent experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- Prior experience with a pipeline products manufacturing environment is a plus
