The Houston Area Urban League’s Health and Wellness program aims to increase access to quality healthcare, improve chronic disease management and prevention, and increase access to nutritious foods for under-represented and under-served populations in the greater Houston area through education, awareness and advocacy, health insurance enrollment, faith-based partnerships, and community engagement.
- INSURANCE ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE: Medicaid, CHIP, CHIP Perinatal, Marketplace, etc. these are universal/national whereas Texas Benefits are specific to Texas and does not include marketplace insurance plans
- SNAP ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE: Access to nutritious food.
- HEALTH EDUCATION AND HEALTH LITERACY
- PREVENTION & AWARENESS: Services pertaining to prevention/management of chronic disease and other health issues
